There is a chip, measuring approximately 20mm x 3mm at its largest, on the underside of the mouth rim, extensive old scratching to the underside of the censer, a small area of repair / 'plug' to the centre of the base (measuring 10mm diameter). There are traces of adhesive on the interior of the censer, where one leg has been restored.
It is quite likely that the base was originally integral to the censer but they have been separated. Holes have been drilled into the base and there are small bosses to the base of each foot, to allow the legs to fit to the stand.
The surface of the base is quite rough and there is extensive verdigris to the underside.
