An late 19th century Viennese rock crystal, enamel and silver table casket
in the Renaissance taste, apparently unmarkedof canted rectangular form with florette and foliate scrolling polychrome borders inset with bevelled rock-crystal panels carved with scrolling formalised foliage, the hinged lid with scrolling grotesque ornaments, the central panel carved with a mythological winged half maiden, the interior enamelled to the base with a classical scene depicting Venus clipping Cupids wings within pale blue enamel borders, the underside of the base similarly enamelled, on paw feet, 13cm high, 21cm wide, 18.5cm deep
