19th/20th centuryThe first with padded and applied embroidered and painted elements on red silk ground within black silk frame, the designs comprising bats and shou, boys riding toads and ducks and peony and dragonfly, all framed by braid and black silk cloud-forms, 187cm x 86cm; a first rank civil Mandarin square of a crane within wan-pattern border, all in brocade with embroidered elements, 20cm x 18.6cm; a mirrored pair of uncut panels of pheasants perched on magnolia and fruiting stems, 38cm x 33.5cm.(3).
