Description: bronze, India, 12th century, Size: 24 cm Shiva standing on a circular lotus base. His figure is very slender, the right foot is slightly in the front, and he is gently bent to the left at the waist. Shiva is adorned with necklaces and bracelets. His hair is garlanded with a snake. Two hands are meeting in the center of his heart. In his left hand he is holding the battle axe called parashu. In the right hand he is holding a tiny deer, signifying that he has attained a firm and mature mind. The depiction of Shiva with these two attributes usually stems from South India.
