Early 1900's French bistro aluminium champagne ice bucket for the house of Lanson Brut Black Label Champagne in Reims. One of the oldest wine houses started in C.1760 by Francais Delam. The Lanson name was taken when Jean Baptiste Lanson took over management of the vineyard upon the death of Mr. Delam in C.1837. Reims is known as one of the main towns of champagne production in the world.
In C.1900 Queen Victoria awarded Lanson with a Royal Warrant as an official supplier to the Court of England which Lanson has retained ever since.
The bucket has a polished finish to the aluminum with 4 incised grooved bands upper and lower. Loop handles either side and the black label for Depuis Lanson Champagne 1760 set into an indented oval center front and back. Wording in silver. "Made in France" is incised on the bottom in a circular design.
Very minor scratches on the exterior as seen, otherwise excellent condition.
Excellent for wine, beer, bottled water or champagne as well as other non alcoholic beverages.
