Balaine Paris in a rectangular cartouche, also "10" in a cartouche (meaning silverplated). Silvered metal tea fountain forming samovar or tea kettle. Circular stand with four small ball feet. Scrolling side holders. Teapot with foliage and turned ebonized wood handle. Flower finial. Louis-Philippe period. Charles Balaine worked at the store “Orfèvrerie : le double” 91, rue du Temple in Paris in the mid-1800s. Acquired from an established antique dealer in Lima, Peru.
