Description: A JAPANESE WOODBLOCK TRIPTYCH, PROBABLY LATE EDO. Comprising three individual woodblock prints designed to be displayed together and depicting a gathering of finely attired figures each carrying sword and holding fan, the background with landscape and a profusion of text. Each print loose (not laid) and measuring approximately 14.8 inches x 9.75 inches (37.5 x 25 cm) and displayed in a custom made glazed frame with double cut mat. The frame outer dimensions 21 x 35.5 inches. Together with two other framed Japanese woodblock prints one depicting a bridge in forest (approx. 9 inches x 14 inches) and the other depicting ships in a harbor at dusk (approx. 13 inches x 8.5 inches) both signed with chop and both in glazed frames (the last two unillustrated).
