Sterling silver cigarette case, from the estate of Bob Russell, host of the Miss American pageant. Russell hosted from 1940 through 1946, 1949-50 and 1954. During the time he hosted, the pageant saw its first Jewish contestant, its first Hispanic contestant and its first Asian contestant. He recommended and was replaced by the legendary Bert Parks. Case is engraved "Bob" on the lid and "Miss America Pageant 1946" on the bar inside. Measures 3" x 4-1/4" and weighs a little over 4 Troy ounces.
