From 1959, a great collection of letters from children's authors, contained in a scrap book. The collection consists mainly of response letters, many including original illustrations. Highlights include Louis Slobodkin (signed and illustrated), Virginia Lee Burton (signed with an illustration of Mike Mulligan's Steam Shovel), Syd Hoff (signed and illustrated), Katherine Milhaus (3 signatures including one on a press sheet illustration from the Christmas story 'With Bells On"), Tomi Ungerer (hand written and signed with an illustration of Felix's face), and one of the well known Nudget on a Budget letters from Dr. Seuss. Other authors included are Paul Cretien, Jr. (with a color illustration of Sir Henry), Paul Engle, Ray Broekel (candy historian and author of The Great American Candy Bar Book), Leonard Weisgard (known for his collaborations with Margaret Wise Brown), and Hardie Gramatky (author of Little Toot). Scrapbook measures 14 1/4" high x 12 1/4" wide. Letters show some wear and discoloration. All elements fixed to pages. One loose page.
