The pear-shaped body carved with two spirals on each side imitating zoomorphic features, with two handles framing a waisted neck with a double band of ribs, 29cm H.

This form of jars derives its name from the area in Sichuan province where several have been excavated. Vessels of similar shape were prominent in the Neolithic cultures of Machang (c.3000-2500 BC) and Xingdian (c.1500 BC).
