Up for auction is a RARE EARLY CHINESE CARVED ORANGE JADE ARCHAIC CEREMONIAL BLADE DAVID PERCIVAL. An extraordinary ceremonial blade one of several important archaic jades being offered in this week’s sale. The examples were acquired in the 1930's by a family member that worked in the UK at the Canmore museum that was later bombed and destroyed during WW2. A number of examples from this important collection have sold throughout the years at higher end auctions, including a few examples from the collection coming up in Septembers important Asian arts sales in New York.??The blade is a very unique example carved of an orange jade or jade like hardstone. The blade appears very early we are not sure of an exact dating ourselves so to be perfectly safe we will let bidders decide for themselves. The blade also has a label from the highly important David Percival collection as seen which is incredible provenance to have. There is also a bi disc being offered with Percival label. We believe there are a number of important and rarely found archaic pieces being offered in this week’s sale.?Condition: Minor imperfections consistent with ancient age. Overall substantially good as seen.Size: The blade measures 8 5/8 inches tall, by 2 3/4 inches wide. The blade weighs 264 grams.?
