AN IVORY NOBLE LADY, MING
China, 17th century. Fine and detailed openwork carving of a lady resting on a bench formed from a massive craggy rock. The sleeves of her elegant courtly summer robe bear finely incised floral scrolls. Her hair is neatly tied together by a hairpin adorned with two flowers.
Provenance: English private collection.
Condition: Superb condition with old wear and a pattern of natural age cracks, but no chips or any other sort of damages whatsoever! The ivory patinated to a warm golden-brown color.
