A PAIR OF CARVED IVORY VASES, QING
China, Canton, 19th century. Deeply carved and incised with reticulated depictions of epic battle scenes, the tall waisted necks with scholars in panels amid scrolling lotus, all between borders of lappets and key fret. The handles with fierce Chilong heads and movable rings. (2)
Provenance: From an English private collection of Chinese ivories. By repute acquired in China before 1950 and in the same family ever since.
Condition: Fine natural patina. One ring and lower section of one handle replaced. Losses and associated cracks to neck of one vase. Both with very small nibbles and age cracks. Overall good condition especially considering age and fragility.

來源:來自英國一個中國象牙收藏,據説1950年前購於中國,在同一家族保存至今
品相:天然細膩包漿。更換了一個活環和一耳;花瓶頸部有缺損和裂縫,一些老化開裂,整體狀況良好,特別是考慮到年代以及脆弱性。
