Description:
A LARGE COBALT-BLUE GLASS BOTTLE VASE, 18TH CENTURY
China, 18th Century. The simple shape and perfectly even, deep color clearly indicate that this is an earlier work by the Beijing glass workshops. The globular body of the thick-walled, transparent vase is left plain below a tall, flared neck and above a short foot with recessed base and broad rim.
Provenance: From an English private collection, Kent, acquired prior to 1950. Thence by descent.
Condition: Good condition with some wear and traces of use, minor nibbling to foot rim and lip, the inner of the neck with small chips partially smoothened.
