Description:
A JUNYAO PURPLE-SPLASHED SHALLOW DISH, YUAN
China, 12th-13th century. Heavily potted, the shallow sides flare from the unglazed ring foot, turn upward and terminate in everted, flat rim. The thick, lavender-blue glaze slightly fades where it thins, highlighted with a deep purple splash.
Provenance: Roger Keverne Ltd., Summer Exhibition 2003, London, nr. 50. Thereafter in a distinguished English private collection, acquired from the above.
Condition: Superb condition with only minor wear.
