Edo period (1615-1868), 19th centuryThe circular cup set on a splayed foot and decorated in iro-e takamaki-e, togidashi maki-e and kinji with highlights of gyobu-nashi and aogai on a red-lacquer ground with Daikoku's mallet, the underside decorated with a large sea bream and a courtier's cap 3 1/4in (8.2cm) diameter, 2 3/16in (5.5cm) high
