A CHINESE BLUE GLAZE WITH BISCUIT QILIN SCHOLAR'S PORCELAIN BRUSH REST, QING DYNASTY 1644-1912, the five five peeked mountain form rest in the earlier Ming dynasty taste, centers on one side a relief biscuit form of a cloven qilin, a mythical beast, with a horn, a skeletal back ridge, flaming tail, and upturned mouth issuing a plantain leaf, flanked by auspicious under glaze carved symbols, opposed by a back carved with a writhing dragon and carp in waves with a mountainous landscape and clouds in the background. Height: 5" Width: 6" Depth: 1" Condition: Some surface wear, and some surface build up, mild matting of glaze glossiness, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
