Description: Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Islamic, ca. 8th to 11th century CE. A mold-blown opaque glass bottle of a deep cobalt blue hue. The body is near-spherical, sitting on a slightly concave base, with a tall, cylindrical spout with a narrow mouth. The lower body of the vessel is decorated with relief swirls and circles and the surface has attained a beautiful silvery iridescence with time. Made to prevent the evaporation of precious perfumes and oils, this would have been a beloved possession for a man or woman. Time has made this vessel incredibly beautiful, imbuing it with amazing iridescence. Size: 1.95" W x 2.95" H (5 cm x 7.5 cm); 3.95" H (10 cm) on included custom stand.
