Description: East Asia, China, Ming and Qing Dynasties, ca. 1368 to 1912 CE. A lovely set of two cast-brass weights in the form of Fu Dogs (also Foo Dogs). The recumbent Ming Dynasty Fu Dog lays atop all four legs and has a bushy tail, a fiery mane, and a raised head with a squat snout and petite eyes. The larger Qing Dynasty Fu Dog sits with one leg atop a flowing orb and has a wispy tail, several necklaces draped around the neck, and a smaller Fu Dog standing alert atop its back. Both weights are enveloped with matte espresso-hued patina that imbues them with a fine presentation. Size of largest (Qing Dynasty): 2.4" L x 2.6" H (6.1 cm x 6.6 cm)
