Probably Ming DynastyThe globular vessel cast wish stylised taotie in shallow relief and four archaistic phoenixes in appliqué at the rim, all held on the shoulders of four mythical beasts standing on a flat disc supported by a double-baluster stem with upright lappets and c-scrolls, all rising from a domed foot decorated with chilong in shallow relief, the base with a flowerhead surrounded by further c-scrolls, the domed cover with further taotie and phoenix finial. 25.5cm (9 7/8in) high (2).
