A MASSIVE CHAM RELIEF GOLD RING DEPICTING NANDI
Champa, c. 10th – 12th century. The oval top of this massive gold ring shows a naturalistic depiction of Nandi, the holy white bull of Hindu mythology and mount of Shiva, in high relief.
Provenance: From an important European private collection. Acquired in Asia between 1960 and 1970. A private owner, acquired from the above.
Condition: Excellent condition with expected traces of wear.
