Complete set of the second enlarged edition (printed on LARGE PAPER) of a scientific work concerning microscopy by the French naturalist Louis Joblot (1645-1723) illustrated with engravings by i.a. Jean-Baptiste Haussard (1679-1749) depicting i.a. various insects & (the construction of) microscopes. Although the Dutch microscopist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) was the first who observed the “Protozoa”, it was Louis Joblot who published the first separate treatise on it. ?
