Description: Rectangular jade snuff bottle of celadon nephrite resting on a neat foot rim with a skin of dark olive brown carved on the front with two confronting archaic dragons. The reverse side has a carved phoenix in a peony tree. The bottle is well hollowed and a coral top set in brass is on top. Circa 1800-1860. This originally came from the collection of Edward Choate O’Dell. This was purchased from Carey Stanley in Memphis, Tennessee in September 1989 for $2500.
