LOT NOTES Vladimir Tseidler was a well-known architect from St. Petersburg. He came from a German noble family. Tseidler finished Imperial Academy of Arts with honors in 1883. Among his friends were Leontiy Benua and Alexander fon Gogen. At the age of 28 he archived the title of Academician in Architecture. During his lifetime, Vladimir Tseidler designed over 30 buildings in St. Petersburg and other cities. One of the last projects was a new building for Bestuzhev Courses, woman`s higher educational institution (Dmitry Mendeleev was among the professors), which he completed in 1914, and which was then used as a hospital during WWI.
