Princess Maria Nikolaevna Volkonskaya (1805-1863): one of the most remarkable women in Russian history. Daughter of the famous general N. N. Rayevsky, wife of dekabrist Prince S. G. Volkonsky. When Prince was sent to Siberia, Maria Volkonskaya shared the exile with her husband.
