LOT NOTES Camille Claudel was a French sculptor and graphic artist, also known to be an assistant, mistress and muse of Auguste Rodin. Claudel unflinchingly presents the impact of time on the human body in Clotho>, a daughter of Zeus and Themis, the one who spins the thread of human life with her distaff. The present lot is an example of her work under the influence of the relationship with Rodin and forms part of the artistic dialogue between two sculptors about the depiction of old age.
