, each 'petal' of the ten-lobed cup inlaid with a flower in dark and light slip below an incised rim, on a spreading foliate-form foot, 7cm diam; the eight-lobed associated stand inlaid on each 'petal' and in the centre with chrysanthemums, the central raised stand carved with lotus petals within an incised well, on a conical foliate-form foot, 15.5cm diam Provenance: The Collection of Professor R.C. Cookson (1922-2008), Woolley and Wallis 20th May 2010, lot 598. Note: a comparable eight-lobed cup and stand from the National Museum of Korea, with chrysanthemum design inlaid in sanggam technique, was exhibited in the Treasures from Korean Exhibition at the British Museum 1984, no.162. Another from the Robert Moore Collection was sold at Christie's New York in 1986. Many shards of similar cups/stands have been found in the old kiln sites at Taegu-myon in Kangjin District, South Cholla Province.
