An Exquisite Pair of Ruby and Diamond Pendent Earrings Each centring upon an oval-cut ruby, weighing 4.01 and 3.39 carats, between pear-shaped diamond clusters, accented by brilliant-cut diamonds, diamonds approximately 6.40 carats total, length 3.7cm 注脚 Accompanied by two reports from SSEF stating that natural rubies are 'pigeon's blood' red colour, have no indications of heat treatment and originate from Burma (Myanmar). The term "pigeon's blood", the most prized colour in a ruby, was first coined by Burmese Gemologist Han Htun, in reference to the 'red dot' in the centre of a pigeon's eye. As the majority of Mogok rubies possess a purple tint, "pigeon's blood" gems exhibiting a pure red body-colour with red UV-fluorescence are highly sought after. Large specimens over three carats, which are unheated, are scarcer still. Bonhams is privileged to offer this pair of rubies, perfectly matched in colour, of vivid red hue, have very good transparency, and with pure red fluorescence from the legendary Mogok mine.緬甸無經加熱處理"鴿血紅"紅寶石緬甸紅寶石來自著名的抹谷地區, 位處於曼德勒東北幾百公里之外, 一直被認為是世界上最優質的紅寶石。"鴿子血"這個詞是紅寶石中最昂貴的色調, 最早起源於緬甸寶石學專家韓宏屯所描述的鴿子眼睛中央"紅點" 之顏色。相比起大部份抹谷紅寶石會略帶紫色, 鴿子血色的紅寶石因其純紅色調及帶有紅色紫外螢光而備受追捧。三克拉以上而未經加熱處理的優質紅寶石仍然稀缺。邦瀚斯衷心呈獻的這一對具有高透明度, 顏色濃度匹配及顯現紅色螢光效應的紅寶石耳環, 正是來自傳奇的抹谷礦區。
