They had one common goal, and it was to push the Luxury Swiss hand-made watches to the very top of technical innovation. After three years of intensive research and multiple prototypes, Richard Mille launched their RM 001 Tourbillon at Baselworld 2001. It had a phenomenal response from the public. All 80 pieces were sold out almost the moment they were launched. The memorizing factor of the RM001 was that it didn't feature any precious metal or gemstones, it was solely the stunning movement and the technology of the calibre that captivated the audience. A large portion of Richard Mille's inspiration came from race cars and the study of shock-resistance. Today, Richard Mille watches are worn by watch enthusiasts all over the world and renowned athletes like tennis icon Rafael Nadal wear their Richard Mille Tourbillon watch during their sporting matches. Similarly, this Reference RM60-01 AO Ti is no exception from their top-quality standards. This is Richard Mille's first incorporated navigation wristwatch. RM60 was specially designed for sailing regattas and competitions due to its built-in navigation system. The unique rotating bezel allows sailors to find their direction without using a compass or other gadgets. This titanium case with an incredible size of 50mm houses the powerful beating heart of this time machine. The semi-skeletonized design allows one to observe the beating Calibre RMAC2. It features an annual calendar, flyback chronograph with central seconds counter, 30-minute countdown timer, UTC function and power reserve of approximately 50 hours. The vibrant colours and oversized case are iconic characteristics of Richard Mille watches.Reference RM60-01 AO Ti is very limited due to its complex movement and masterful craftsmanship. The present lot in mint condition with Richard Mille watch winder box and the original certificate.
