This landmark event provides a singular opportunity for collectors to obtain this extraordinary Patek Philippe masterpiece. The reference 6002G with blue dials was launched in 2013 to replace the 2001 Sky-Moon Tourbillon reference 5002, formerly the most complicated wristwatch in the world. The present black dial version was launched in 2016. Boasting 12 complications, the reference 6002G is housed in an extraordinary white-gold case entirely hand-chased and engraved with almost three-dimensional elegant scrolls which take Patek Philippe’s master craftsmen over 100 hours to achieve. The exquisite black dial is decorated with both cloisonné and champlevé enamel and a foliate design to harmonize with the decoration of the case. In this superlative horological work of art, rare handcraft skills are combined with a mechanical tour-de-force, representing the highest level of watchmaking and artistry. The complications of the 6002G include a minute repeater with two cathedral gongs, and a tourbillon. The front dial indicates standard time (mean solar time) and displays the perpetual calendar with a retrograde date and moon phases. The back dial displays the astronomical functions with the northern sky, sidereal time, phases and orbit of the moon.
