Exceptional Chinese trunk - elm wood black lacquered (inside) covered with lacquered rattan on the outside. Extremely rare piece dating back to the early Qing dynasty (17th - 18th century). The piece made of elm wood and lacquered inside in black is covered with a finely woven rattan and lacquered in red. The lacquered rattan gives the trunk an exceptional softness to the touch and underlines its elegance. The brass borders are original.
