Japan. 1st half 19th c. Nomura Ky?koku. Gold and silver takamaki-e on nashiji ground, fish and shrimp inlaid with mother-of-pearl, aogai and horn. Inside gyobu-nashiji. A big fish between waves and aquatic plants. On the other side another fish along with a large shrimp. Three-part. Height 6.9cm. Sign.: Ky?koku & ka?. Netsuke: Clam shell. Ivory, probably maritime. W. 4cm. Ojime: Lotus capsule with crab. Copper, partly gilded. W. 1.5cm. Condition A/B.
