Japan. 18th c. Kajikawa family. Hira- and takamaki-e in gold and silver with details in sumi-togidashi on nashiji ground. Bulbous hibachi next to tsuitate with shishi and plum blossoms. On the other side a half rolled up hanging scroll (kakemono) with a sumi-e painting of Kanzan and Jittoku. Five-part. Height 5.9cm. Sign.: Kajikawa saku. Manj?-netsuke: Dried fish with daikon grater. Gold lacquer with inlays of gold, silver and copper. W. 3.5cm. Sign.: Shinsai & seal. Ojime: Bird and flowers. Copper gilded. H. 1.8cm. Condition A/B. Lacquer flaking on the netsuke.
