Of round form, with rounded flaring side rising from a short moulded foot-ring, painted in shades of underglaze blue with a central roundel containing a ball motif surrounded by a border of large leaves inside double blue lines and a further band of stylised ruyi-heads, the interior sides with stylised lotus and the Eight Buddhist Emblems, ‘bajixiang’, the interior rim with double blue lines and mounted with a bronze-coloured metal rim, the glazed and concave base decorated with a six-character mark of Jiajing inside blue double circular lines.
