An egg-shaped vase with a short neck, decorated in underglaze blue with a magpie on a branch of a leafless knotty plum tree over bamboo, building/forming the homophone zhumei shuangxi meaning "double happiness for the bride and groom", to the back a woman with a stick next to a pine tree and lingzhi, all covered with a crackled glaze. Metal-mounted rim over gold lacquer repair (kintsugi).

Provenance: Private collection, Hamburg, according to consignor from a Lower Saxony estate, which was collected in the 1930s and 40s in East Asia, and thence by descent
