Central figure with hands in Dharma teaching gesture, in vajra hat on ornate jeweled throne with table and objects, surrounded by gurus (Rinpoche and others) and Buddha's, with fierce protector Black Cloaked Mahakala at bottom center and two others at corners: the "blacksmith" Garba Nagpo and the only female protector, Penden Lhamo, seated on a kyang. Background of buildings and rolling hills and crescent moon to upper right corner. Another possible identity of the central figure is the 3rd Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje, which would place the date closer to the 17th century. Himalayan Art Resources item no. 90506.
