Polychrome woodcut. Triptych, 350x730 mm, framed in cardboard and canvas passe-partout. Each sheet with the signature Toyokuni ga, in toshidama cartouche. Good condition.
Colour woodblock print, oban triptych. The kabuki actors as Yoshida no Matsuwakamaru, seated in a boat and holding up a torch on the right, the boatman Shionomura in the middle, the Buddhist nun Seigen (‘Seigen-ni’) on the left. See British Museum, number 1915,0823,0.862.1-3
