Born and raised in Kedah, Malaysia, Eng Tay studied at The Art Students League in New York and graduated from The School of Visual Arts in 1972 as a graphic designer. He left the graphic arts field in 1978, and began to focus on fine arts painting. His works are exhibited both locally and internationally, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States. Eng works in several media, such as limited edition etchings, painting and sculpture that are themed in family, man and woman, music, the natural world and more.
