A Victorian sculpted terracotta model of the Diana of Gabii, third quarter 19th century, by Blashfield and modelled after the Antique, the rectangular base stamped J.M.Blashfield, 65cm high The original work, possibly after a Praxitelean forerunner was rediscovered in 1792 by Gavin Hamilton on the property of the Prince Borghese at Gabii, not far from Rome.
