Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A stunning necklace with an allure brought forth by skillfully carved amethyst beads with sharp central carinations. Between each amethyst is a petite spacer ball made from 88% gold (equivalent to 21K+), and a triangular 81% gold (equivalent to 18K+) pendant is adorned with gold granules. A large drop-form amethyst pendant hangs from the lowest tip of the golden triangle and is supported by an additional gold bead. Strung in modern times and capped with a gold-filled loop and French hook combo, this is a mesmerizing necklace that is sure to accentuate any outfit! Size (necklace): 20.5" L (52.1 cm); (amethyst pendant): 0.7" W x 1.5" H (1.8 cm x 3.8 cm); quality of gold: beads are 88% (equivalent to 21K+), triangular pendant is 81% (equivalent to 18K+).
