Central Asia, India/Pakistan, Indo-Persian culture, ca. 19th century CE. A fine hammered carbon-steel khula khud helmet of a domed form with an additional steel panel reinforcing the lower periphery. The top features radiating striations etched across the exterior, a pair of riveted socketing shafts, a nose guard fastened by an adjustable knob, and a tall spike finial. Dozens of petite perforations line the lower periphery of the helmet, and a contiguous swath of chain mail hangs down to protect the wearer's neck. Display head for photography purposes only.
