East Asia, Korea, Kingdom of Goryeo (Koryo), ca. 12th century CE. A beautiful Goryeo Dynasty celadon glazed pottery vessel of a characteristically simple yet elegant form comprised of an elongated globular body, leading to a short, gently tapering tubular neck, and a carinated mouth with an outfolded rim. The celadon glaze on this example is a warm red-brown, and it is thin enough so that the textured surface of the exterior walls is apparent.
