Pre-Columbian, Peru (south coast), probably Middle Nazca, Phase 5, ca. 450 to 550 CE. An identical pair of brilliantly painted, ceramic keros (queros/qeros). Each is tall and beaker-like, with a rounded base and a flared mouth. The base is divided into four large painted sections, two black and two blue grey; above that is a wide register featuring the San Pedro cactus, used by the Nazca to make hallucinogenic drugs. Above the cacti, forming the flared mouth of each, is a register of repeated pyramid steps.
