Pre-Columbian, Argentina, La Aguada / Aquada culture, ca. 700 to 1000 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished greyware pottery olla with a concave base, tall walls, and a thin rim surrounding the deep basin. The exterior walls are intricately decorated with incised cruciform patterns enclosed within diamond-shaped borders, and white pigment is rubbed within the striations to further accentuate the detailing.
