European, made in Holland or possibly Germany, traded to the Dogon people of Mali, ca. 18th century CE. A strand of 47 large, round glass trade beads, all presenting deep cobalt blue hues, with fantastic almost flourescent patina in their lower profile areas. The Dutch traded beads of this style with the Dogon people in exchange for furs, raw materials, and slaves. These beads were strung on a modern raffia cord and are wearable as is.
