Description A magnificent dual handled sterling silver centerpiece by Gorham manufacturing company. The flared center bowl banded with a festive array of musical cherubs playing trumpets, harmonicas and zithers within gilt borders. The stem prominently featuring three figural busts of maidens in the classical taste, strung together with applied wreaths set with floral and acorn embellishments ending in ribbons, transitioning into elongated legs with feet draped in roman sandals. The base further gilt and supported by three architectural feet.
Twice hallmarked for Gorham and sterling. The underside of the base with date cypher for 1879.
