A FINE THREE-CASE LACQUER INRO
Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868)
Fine lacquer work designed in gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and kirigane with a scene of a waterway, pavilions and classic landscape designs. The inside covered in nashiji and together with a small floral metal ojime and an ivory netsuke depicting a boy with turtle.
HEIGHT inro 5.5 cm,
LENGTH netsuke 3.5 cm
Condition: Good agerelated condition, the inro has a few thin cracks and related wear, only one is visible from the outside, and discoloration along the borders. The netsuke with a chip to the edge of one foot and missing one inlaid eye.
