Description
A LIDDED ‘CARP’ TUREEN, QING
China, late 19th century. The large three-part tureen is made of pewter with brass finials, a glass cabochon inlaid as the fish’s eye, fine incisions and auspicious Chinese characters incised to the carp’s cheeks. Each part bears three stamped Chinese hallmarks.
Condition: Good condition with extensive wear and traces of use, minor dents and some soiling.
