Description
JADE AMULET WITH BI, DRAGON AND DANCER, REPUBLIC
China, 20th century. A very finely crafted, small jade, both sides crafted in the same way, composed of two concentric disks, a bi and a huan. On top of the latter are two dragons facing one another, the bodies of which form an arch beneath which a human being is performing the “dance with the long sleeves”. The finely ground-in decoration - relief and lines - presents us with a winding dragon tail as well as spirals and a tiny grid field on the bi-disc. Striking color contrast between the light gray-green and distinct, straight, diagonally running black-brown area!
Condition: Very good condition.
Provenance: From an important Austrian jade collection.
Dimensions: Height 5.8 cm. Thickness to 5.5 mm.
