A BRONZE CENSER WITH A SCHOLAR ON A CAPARISONED HORSE, MING TO QING
China, 17th century. The censer itself cast in the form of a horse with a finely incised mane and caparison as well as tassels hanging from the neck and the lid cast in the form of a literati with a long, incised beard.
Condition: Several losses and breakages as well as a fine patina.
Provenance: From the collection of Alexander Popov in Novi Sad, Kingdom of Serbia, acquired between 1900-1920.
